Practice 8.24

We showed much improvement today in our passing dribbling and overall energy. We also worked on our shooting. In our scrimage game, we started working a little on positions. We have much more work to do but the girls are beginning to make some progress.

We had 4 players at the start of practice: Sara, Alicia, Isabelle, and Kayla. By the end of practice we had a total of 8. Please try to be at practice on-time if possible.

Soccer socks are now in! If you haven't received yours yet, please send me $7 so I can get your socks to you.

Team Captain

After our practice on September 7, I'll be naming 1 or possibly 2 players serve as team captain. The team captain will represent our team at the coin toss. But more than that, the team captain represents everything that our team is about, hard work, toughness, preparation, and a striving for excellence. A team captain doesn't necessarily have to be the best player, or the oldest, or the most talented. But she will show leadership with a can-do attitude, being on-time and prepared for practice, and encouraging others. The team captain will wear a yellow arm band for the game. New team captains will be selected each week, but the selection will always be based on the same criteria.

Union Soccer Game

Don't forget our outing tomorrow night to the Union soccer game. The kickoff is t 6:00PM at the Union field. This will be a great opportunity for our players to see soccer played by some of the best players in the Mid-South. I hope all of you can make it.

Saturday's Practice

Don't forget about our practice Saturday, 9:30 to 11:00. We'll go swimming at Ramblewood pool after practice. Bring $3 for the guest fee. If you like, we can pick up a pizza for lunch and eat it at the pool. It should be a fun day.

See you at tomorrow night's game.

Joel
