Game Day 11.11

When I read the forecast on Thursday it said clear skies with a high temperature of 54 degrees. Turns out, that was a bit optimistic. It never got over 45 degrees under overcast skies and with a north wind of 10 mph, it felt more like the upper 30's. Nevertheless everyone toughed it out for the last game. We fell behind early but made a late charge. Sara scored 2 goals behind excellent assists from Bethany and Isabelle. In the end,we came up short 5-2. Congratulations to Catherine for winning the Defensive Player of the Game, Sara for Offensive Player of the Game, Isabelle for the Hustle Award and Alicia for MVP.

We had a great season. We finished the season with a 5-2-1 record. I was proud of how hard the girls worked all year. They are a group of very dedicated young ladies. I'm looking forward to seeing them continue to grow and improve next season. We had our end of season party at Village Inn Pizza. Everyone had a good time.

Next season, I'll be coaching in the Soccer Academy. A number of you have tried out already. The next tryout date is February 3. Check the JAWS web site for more information.

Thanks for giving me an opportunity to coach your daughters. They are a very special group. I've had allot of help this year with the team. Thanks to Blake Taylor, Isabelle's dad for taking all the team photos. Also, Cliff Pawley, Bethany's dad, did a great job in helping me get the girls ready to play in pre-season. Thanks also to all of you parents. You did a great job encouraging your daughters on the field, an getting them to practice on time. Thanks also for your gift. I hope to see many of you again in the Spring. Thanks for supporting me this year!
