A message for the players...

I was just telling someone today how impressed I am with the quality of players we have in the Academy this season. Since the beginning of the pre-season, I've had the chance to see every one of you perform both drills and in scrimmage games. Usually the top players in the recreational league are pretty good, but the talent drops off pretty quickly after you get to the 2nd or 3rd tier players. Let me tell you if you haven't already noticed, the teams in this league are going to be stacked top to bottom. Once we kick off the regular season this weekend, there's going to be some fierce competition on the field. And your opponents going to do nothing but improve as the season progresses. And if you're thinking that you can afford to miss a single practice, don't kid yourself. You're not in the rec. league anymore. Not ony are the Academy teams going to be competetive with each other, we're going to be playing some of the top club teams in the area this season. And don't forget that we'll be playing the top West Tennessee talent in the Shootout in the West tournament. It's only six weeks away. So strap on those cleats, work out in the back yard, and by all means, get yourself to practice.
