Three Rules

Anyone who has ever played on one of my teams can probably recite my three simple rules. They aren't complicated but they have universal application. Here they are in order:

1. Be on time. Being on time shows respect, respect for yourself, your work, and your fellow workers. If you are serious about what you do and you want to be taken seriously, be on time.

2. Know your job. Know what needs to be done and kept a laser focus on that. Don't worry about what you can't control, know your own task and dedicate yourself to being competent at it. Strive to be the best you can possibly be and others will respect you for it.

3. Play hard. Throw yourself entirely into a task. There's nothing more pitiful than a job that's done half heartedly. If a task is worth doing, it deserves your full attention and effort. If you fail, at least fail falling forward. By giving it your all, you will inspire others to do the same. Enthusiasm is contagious. Start an epidemic of passionate work.
