It's been the season of rain so far this year. It's a far cry from last fall when we had hardly any rain at all. Most of the rec teams have not played a single game. Basically, we have lost an entire month of the soccer season. There will be a ton of games to make up. Hopefully things will dry out soon.
The SRFC Spring Shootout turned out to be a very wet tournament. Sunday was rained out. We were fortunate to be able to play 2 games on Saturday. Several of the teams had to play in the pouring rain on Saturday night. By Sunday morning, several of the fields were literally under water, including the field that were were supposed to play on.
Overall, I thought our girls played well. Most importantly though, they learned allot. At this point, soccer is (or should be) about learning and growing. I feel good about where the team is going. They seem to improve as the season progresses. I don't know if that's just the kids growing up and maturing or if it's our coaching. Either way, it's fun to watch.
