Game Day 9.28

We had quite a fight on our hands in the first half of the game. Both teams went into halftime having scored one goal apiece. We finally broke the game open in the second half scoring 4 goals while giving up none. We did a much better job of passing and distributing the ball in the second half of the game. The final score was 5-1. Bethany and Isabelle did a tremendous job at Goalkeeper. Overall, it was our best defensive effort of the year.

I was very proud of how all the girls played their roles in this game. They decided at the pre-game meeting that they were willing to put the team first and do their part to make sure that we were successful. Everyone played a critical part in getting the win.

Congratulations to Isabelle for winning Defensinve Player of the Game and Raegan for winning Offensive Player of the Game. Cathrine played a great game on the defensinve end and won the Hustle Award. Bethany took the MVP honors for some great play at both ends of the field.

Our next practice will be this Saturday morning at 9:30. We'll be using our regular practice field. The next game will be Thursday, October 5 at 5:30. We'll be using the same field that we used today. We'll be wearing red for the first time this year.

See you Saturday.
